The 1st run was a perfect level.  The 2nd had a little less water.  The first good drop is right after the Church on river right.  This marks the beginning of the steep section.

Mouth of Bear Creek

This a very continuous, small stream. Think Savage or Lower Seneca but smaller. About one mile seemed to have a steeper feel than either of these.

After starting out, the creek was non-stop Class II. Some shallow spots required us to be picky. There were occasional drops of a couple feet or so and a tree limb that was easily avoided.  At one point, there was an island which the left, narrower looking side seemed to have more water. Soon things began to pick up as the bed necked down and gradient increased. Drops were more frequent with four feet in height. Most of these had offset angles. Speed increased again. Small eddies were a must for control and boat scouting. This went on for about a mile. While sitting in an eddy, I said to myself "this is the steep section" as I looked downhill and saw drops cascading back and forth. Next, a distinct horizon line was reached. After scouting on the left, we ran a large slide down the left side. There was a retaining wall on the right. Things started to flatten out as we approached our take-out at the park in Friendsville.
