The rapids at the beginning of the run are just a warm-up and are not typical of the rest of the run.  The nature of the remainder of the run is mostly blind boulder drops.

While I was taking pictures of Bruce, Dave & John at the put-in, a local came by riding a quad.  He seemed concerned as he stopped me to ask if the guys had ever run this river before.  I told him that two of them had and asked him why.  He then told me that there was a "Big Whoom" about a mile downstream that they would probably have to walk.  I assured him that I didn't think they would have a problem but he just shook his head, said goodbye and left unconvinced.  Later, Bruce told me that the first part of the run was easy and fun but he knew that it had to get  better because Dave wouldn't drive all the way down here just for this.
