Put in on small creek 20 yards above Seneca. Shortly after, a strainer had to be portaged. First half of trip was continuous with a narrow stream bed and a few distinct horizon lines.
The most significant drop in first half was a multiple ledge drop into holes.
Other typical rapids on Seneca
Also, There was a good slide then a ledge was sneaked down the left side by punching a hole.
Below Onego river widened out and larger eddies occurred.
A left channel was taken around an island. Next the river piled up on a wall at a ninety degree curve - some current flowed left into an eddy - the main current went right. Below this point another strainer was portaged - it could have been passed on the left with caution. Behind the Post Office was one of the best drops - a fairly heavy rapid that was run down the left side to avoid two holes. While scouting, we shared company with some seasoned Coastal Canoeists. A canoe paddle can be used as a walking stick. But you don't need to walk when you can canoe.
Near the end, a dam or uniform ledge was run down the left.
The last rapid was visible from our campsite. This was a twisty multiple ledge drop with large holes at the bottom.
